It’s been fun to watch Sequel Pro mature as an application, and though I dig having all of my development related tasks in a single window, I’ve found myself using Sequel Pro more and more over the past couple of weeks. Once here, you have access to all of the usual administration features that you’d expect from a database frontend. I generally click on “Test Connection” first to make sure that everything is alright but, if you opt not to do this, this application will tell you if something is wrong when you try to connect.Īssuming that you’ve entered everything correctly, you should be able to connect to database server and then select a database from the drop down in the top left. Step 5: Load the data into Sequel Pro: Find the rainbowdatabase. It works on windows and mac, which is nice. Response time is pretty quick on query runs and the functions are easy to use/figure out. TablePlus is a modern, native Client that provides GUI tools for you to manage multiple databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MS SQL Server. Its still in beta version so it has its kinks, but its really really pretty. So for those who are on Windows looking for a similar experience to Sequel Pro on Mac, try TablePlus instead. That being said, they will not make a Windows version for Sequel Pro. As a free solution, trying Sequel Pro is a no-brainer. As a scalable solution, any size business enterprise can use Sequel Pro to meet their database management needs. It gives you direct access to MySQL databases on remote or local servers. They are really struggling with maintaining the Mac app. Sequel Pro is an opensource, native application for Mac. Sequel Pro was legendary, but up to this point, there are thousands of unsolved issues on their issue tracker, or they haven’t found a way to support MySQL 8 yet. ![]() Perhaps it’s mainly because of the lack of resource. ![]() Love Sequel Pro on Mac and looking for its Windows version?
